Celebrating Indigenous Youth Voices – N’we Jinan
N’we Jinan is a non-profit touring initiative that features the voices and perspectives of Indigenous youth through bringing music programs into community. The program gives youth the opportunity to develop an original song that resonates with their realities and uses a mobile studio to record their voices. Youth then participate in creating and starring in their own music video. With over 100 Indigenous youth voices featured and 18 participating Nations, the youth can share their lived experiences and worldviews with a larger audience.
N’we Jinan is currently on tour showcasing the National release of their Dreamkeepers Volume 6 Album. Youth from the involved communities are traveling to perform their original songs and to be celebrated by their family, friends and various communities. The album release party will take place in Vancouver on Saturday, April 21st at 8:00 pm at the UBC Old Auditorium.
