WHAT WE’RE EXCITED ABOUT

On Sept. 30, we are excited to once again celebrate Orange Shirt Day in recognition of reconciliation and hope. This day was created to commemorate Phyllis Webstad’s story of her first day at residential school when her new orange shirt was taken from her. Take a moment to watch Phyllis’ story.

The Castlemain team rounds up the new, Indigenous, cultural things they’re into this week — from new books to movies, to speaker series, to music and podcasts!

WHERE TO GO

Aboriginal Finance Officers Association (AFOA) Canada will be hosting their inaugural International Conference at the Vancouver Convention Centre on Oct. 2 – 5. The conference will bring together Indigenous Finance, Management, and Leadership professionals that focus on building capacity and creating wealth in Indigenous Communities globally. AFOA will be hosting in partnership with Indigenous Accountants Australia, Nga Kaitatau Maori o Aotearoa (National Maori Accountants Network) and Deakin Business School.
