Castlemain was founded by Rob McPhee and Stefan Moores in 2011.
Their goal was to build a firm that would support Indigenous communities across Canada to succeed. Rob and Stefan believed they could achieve positive economic and social outcomes for clients, and do so in a way that was consistent with their goals, values, and traditional knowledge.
They began by engaging in key negotiations and working on lands projects. Since then the company has expanded and now offers services ranging from economic development to governance and policy, from lands and strategic engagement to communications.
The growth of Castlemain since 2011 validates Rob and Stefan’s approach. During this time, the company has advised and assisted over 100 different Indigenous organizations and has achieved positive outcomes for them on a consistent basis. In the past five years, we have worked on many of the largest economic development, land, governance and social development projects in Canada involving First Nations, Métis, and Inuit.
Today, Castlemain is now the leading independent advisory firm to Indigenous groups in Canada.
For us, it has been a privilege to have worked with so many remarkable Indigenous groups. We are grateful to all Indigenous communities and organizations who have put their trust in us. This has enabled us to grow, and provide more and better services.
We look forward to continuing our work with all Indigenous groups to promote economic and social development in your communities.
