The 24th annual Indspire Awards are taking place at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa on March 24th.  This event honours Indigenous Achievers from all across Canada. This year’s ceremony features special guest performer Buffy Sainte-Marie. If you can’t make the awards, be sure to check it out on APTN on May 10th @ 8 pm. Check out the Facebook event

Adult Night: Cultural Evening at the Fort is a late night adult-only event at Fort Langley’s National Historic Site. Here you will discover the historic cultural connections between Fort Langley and the Kwantlen First Nations. The evening will feature stories and songs by M’Girl and talented Kwantlen Story Tellers. The event takes place on Saturday, March 25th @ 7:30 pm and costs $25 for entry.

The Castlemain team rounds up the new, Indigenous, cultural things they’re into this week — from new books to movies, to speaker series, to music and podcasts!


Blue Moon Marquee, a Metis-Cree gypsy blues jazz duo, will be performing at lelem’ Arts and Cultural Cafe in Fort Langley on Friday, March 24th @ 7 pm. This free event is sure to be busy, so be sure to arrive early.

On March 30th, the Rio Theatre will be showing “Ice Guardians” followed by a special  Q&A with Gino Odjick and the filmmakers. Ice Guardians is a documentary about NHL Enforcers. Partial proceeds from the event will be donated to the Gino Odjick Foundation.

When: Thursday, March 30th @ The Rio Theatre
Doors @ 7pm, Movie @ 8pm.
Tickets $20 in advance here or $23 at the door.
