The Anti-Racism and Inclusive Excellence Task Force formed in April 2021 with six committees representing Work and Study constituencies and Equity Deserving Racialized Groups. The Task Force was created as part of the response to UBC’s commitment to build a more inclusive university community.

Castlemain Group was engaged to complete the design for the 300 plus page report in March 2022 with only three weeks to final approval and launch of the digital copies to appear on UBC’s website. The deliverables were completed in both digital and print - the print assets included a 300 plus page bound report, as well as individual committee reports that worked as a box set, housed in a branded slip cover. Between April and July 2021, Castlemain worked with Vuntut Gwitchin Government (VGG) to develop a VGG Strategic Communications Plan through an inclusive and collaborative approach.

The communications plan was prepared through an inclusive and collaborative approach based on direct engagement with Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation Citizens and Vuntut Gwitchin Government staff and leadership. 2020 was a year of pivoting, and that was no exception for the Castlemain Team. In early 2020, the team was working with the University of Victoria Indigenous Law Program to host five in-person National Next Conversations, community engagements across Canada.

As the engagement team was working to finalize workplans, the global COVID-19 pandemic was declared and all in-person gathering, and travel was restricted.

In the process of navigating deal dynamics, we identified that Chief and Council had concerns with a specific deal which we successfully navigated. We also identified dissatisfaction with the offer our client tendered to the vendor, and are currently in negotiations with them…

The IBA is an organization dedicated to revitalizing and implementing Indigenous legal traditions while advancing the interests of Indigenous peoples in the legal profession. They approached Castlemain for assistance with an awareness campaign for their upcoming Annual Conference.

IBA hosted the conference to recognize the many recent experiences of Indigenous practitioners and provided a space to share their experiences.
